What Our Maintenance Service Covers

  • Continuity Test
  • Insulation test
  • Operational Status Checks:
    • Status when no vehicle connected (Check that no power is being delivered)
    • Status when vehicle is connected but no power is being called for by the vehicle (Check that charger recognises vehicle is connected but no charge being requested by the vehicle – current available)
    • Status when car is connected and requesting a charge (Checks Voltage and current)
    • Fault test
      • Earth Fault test (Check no power delivered in event of earth fault)
      • Electrical Fault test (Check no power delivered in event of electrical fault)
  • Loop Impedance test (verifies that sufficient fault current will flow through an electrical circuit to trip the protective device (fuse or circuit breaker) if a fault occurs, ensuring the circuit is disconnected quickly to prevent overheating and potential hazards like fire or shock (PSC, PFC, L-N, L-PE)
  • RCD (Residual Current Device) Testing
    • Type A RCD test
      • Important: Access to both the distribution board and the charger’s internal RCDs might become necessary. Customers must provide keys and safe access. Access unavailability triggers standing charges of £45 per hour billed in ½-hour intervals. (RCD trip test (milliseconds to trip). Customers will be billed at the standing rate for any additional labour and parts when mechanical fixings of internal RCDs need repair due to corrosion or wear.
    • Type B 6mA test
      • Performed with the same access and charge conditions as the Type A test.

DC Charger Maintenance and Testing

The Evlution team which is trained and competent possesses experience with numerous DC charger brands. Our trained staff use their charger expertise to protect warranty coverage while maintaining legal compliance with standards like the Charge Point Regulations 2023 for public charging. Our maintenance service covers all needs for both AC and DC charging stations.

DC Charger Testing Overview


Our DC charger maintenance program encompasses the same standard AC charger tests and performs DC-specific checks according to each manufacturer’s guidelines. Every piece of equipment receives complete tests that are customised to its specific requirements.
